Decomposed granite is a naturally occuring material formed from weathered granite. It is similar to a crushed gravel, but isa finer material. Crushed gravel is typically man-made whereas decomposed granite is formed naturally. Decomposed granite can be used as a replacement to mulch around landscapes. When mixed with stabilizers or material such as resin, decomposed granite can be used as a replacement to asphalt.

There are many benefits to using decomposed granite. The first being it compacts easily, making it perfect for pathways, driveways, and  trails. It is also inexpensive. It has great drainage properties as well! Finally it comes in a variety of colors.
